Memorial High School Orchestra

Memorial High School, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, has four orchestras that play in various events throughout the year - the Concert Orchestra, the Old Abe Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Entry Level Orchestra. This website will provide information about the orchestras for anyone interested - parents, students, alumni, and more.

About the Orchestras

The Memorial High School Orchestra is run by Soma Pierce-Smit, who also runs part of the orchestra at South Middle School. The Concert and Old Abe Orchestras practice every day, during the first and second period, and do concerts twice a year, as well as other events such as playing at Homecoming, the Italian Dinner, and more.

Orchestra Events

The orchestra plays at many events, such as two concerts each year (a winter concert and a spring concert), as well as the Elementary Tour (where high school students go to elementary schools and convince them to take orchestra), Homecoming (where the orchestra has a float), and the Italian Dinner (an orchestra fundraiser where the orchestra plays Italian music at the Florian Gardens), the Cookie Walk (a fundraiser where parents donate cookies and the orchestra sells them) and others. You can find a full schedule of the orchestra at the schedule page.
